Homesteading Workshop

The best way to learn is in a peaceful, loving, joyful setting. We seek to provide this at all of our workshops! A desire to return to the homestead has been on the rise, and after 2020 it has literally exploded. But what are a bunch of soft city kids supposed to do? How are we to learn? One of the reasons God sent us to Africa for seven years (beyond the awesome eternal unreached people reasons!) was personally to transform me from a squishy, lazy city girl who didn’t even like to break a sweat or a nail to a hard-working woman ready to join God with diligence, integrity, and joy. That was a work of God.

About the Workshops

Learn how to Thrive on a Homestead

In this weekend you can expect lots of detailed answers to common questions and practical how-tos on getting started, getting out of the ditch, and being smart for the long haul. The workshop will include hands-on demonstrations and provide you with some boots-on-the-ground experience.

Our whole family benefited by having some selfish beat out of us in a third world country. By the Lord developing in us a better understanding of what it is to have an eternal perspective!
We pour our whole heart, lots of love, and many practical tools on you with these weekends. We want you to leave with more faith, more courage, and more skills so you are equipped for what God calls you to on your homestead. Working together as a family to provide for ourselves is part of God’s design. It’s fine to go to big box stores and buy all your stuff, but it cripples us and 2020 taught us that in a blink of an eye. We almost didn’t feel the wave of Covid here on the homestead. We just kept doing life as normal and prayed to find toilet paper 🙂 We should probably grow more “lambs ear” (an herb that was historically planted around outhouses and is softer and better than charmin haha). But our lives plugged along as usual while the world froze in fear. Even if you’re not ready to take the plunge, learning how to thrive on a homestead of any size and as the Lord leads is strongly recommended. Maybe it isn’t for you, maybe it's for your children. We delight in pouring into others as those who have gone before us have so generously and richly poured into us. That’s God’s design for people! And it is such an amazing blessing.
